Now the sore throat is all but gone but my nose is clogged or running nonstop and I’m sneezing like crazy!

And I have to work.  There’s no way I’m calling in sick even one single time I work. I like my job too much, need the money desperately for school and it would look bad.  I finally will have an Australian work reference and Iwant it to be a great reference. 

I couldn’t get work for six months here because no one wanted to call my references back in the states. Now that problem is solved at least.

And I must be making an impression. They’ve added more days to my schedule now and bumped at least one person off completely. And the guy paying me said today that if he could afford it he’d pay me and the other girl twice what he is… as he said… he’d pay what we were worth.  How cool is that!

But one very VERY important song is missing for me…

Where the hell is Dangerous!?!?  WTF!!!  I know he rehearsed it but are they not showing it?! 

I know some are probably like….why are you upset about that song??

For me, MJ performing Dangerous is what GOT me into him.  I can still close my eyes and see that perfomance so clearly on the AMAs in 1993 (thanks to youtube now I don’t have to go on memory any longer as I ran into it on there a few weeks ago and went OMG!!! cuz I literally hadn’t seen it since 1993). I have no idea what it did to me…but whatever it did…it did it…and I got hooked.

That love of the song that came with the performance and the dance moves in it only got stronger by 1995, when he did Dangerous/Smooth Criminal at the MTV Awards.  I still reguard that performance as the best he ever did it. I’ve seen footage from quite a few HIStory tour stops and it wasn’t as tight, I’ve seen the 1999 ones and the American Bandstand one…none were as well performed.

And there is just something about him and the guys, dancing in those suits and hats, all doing the same moves.  And right after he flips the dude who shoots the gun…and they go into that whole part of coordinated dancing…maaaaaaaaaaaaan, nobody danced like MJ! Then slipping the bit of Smooth Criminal in there….the bits with Janet’s voice…the slow mo dancing…and the last bits, again all in formation, the sound of the baseball bat and him swingin…and his trademark ending with the spin and then BAM! he does his pose and the guys behind him hit the floor.

It’s all so awesome!!!!

I hope it’s in the movie…or at least the DVD.  To me it’s a big part of him on stage.

And yeah, it left a huge impression on me.  I can’t listen to that song without seeing the dance steps in my mind….

*sigh*

If it’s not in there or on the dvd I’m gonna be pretty sad about it, I really am…

So I was reminded of this time, probably seven years ago, when I had…

*cue scary music now*

….THE PERM FROM HELL.

*cue the (bwhahahahhahahaha)*

No but seriously, it was REALLY horrible.

I’d went in for a larger spiral perm.  I would always tell them bigger than normal spiral curls and they would use those bigger banana clip wrap around things, where they wrap your hair along it and then snap the ends together so you look like the ‘ring queen’ while sitting there.

Well…. I don’t really remember how it got so screwed up. Only I knew they were rods instead but she said it was the right kind they use… and I’d never went to that place before so I was like, okay… I did say a looser spiral perm, I knew she understood that, so I let her do her thing. I was tired from work and decided to trust the person.

And that was after she trimmed it and I asked her for one layer at the bottom. Little did I realize she put several layers in…the top layer being almost as short as my bangs!

I walked out of that salon with very short hair on top and a super tight regular perm…. and I swear I looked like a poodle.  I rememeber getting in the car and my husband at the time…make a face… and I just burst into tears.

Then he felt horrible just like I did…  I remember I went home and jumped in the shower and dumped almost the entire jug of shampoo on my head and scrubbed like mad and used very hot water (at least I didn’t scald myself…) and you know what?  The friggin perm didn’t fucking budge…

And when it dried it went straight up because it was so short on top….

*shudders*

It really was the worst perm I ever had.

After being unemployed since December I am finally part of the employed again!!

And I don’t think I’ll mind the job either…. I answer calls all day and type in people’s information about getting on a new ISP. That’s it.  And for it I get 19 bucks an hour and a full work week each week. 

Yay! I’ll have the school money saved in a couple months! I only need a two year tech program for EMT/Paramedic and through the college I’m going through with books and all it’s about three and a half grand.  I’ll have that in no time!!

Finally, something decent is happening for me.

I love this certain message board I go on…because sometimes everyone sort of bands together to help someone out.  Right now there are an unspecified number of people calling a movie theater in the middle of a remote area of the midwest to pressure them into showing TII… hahaha.   Of couse I am doing my bit….from about nine thousand miles away!

I’ve called a few times now over two days.  It’s sorta fun because I use a different sort of voice every time so they don’t figure out it’s the same person LOL.  And I got two of my friends from the same state and one from another state over to call for me too!  Heh.  Pretty soon they are gonna be like… we better get this movie! Everyone’s calling to see it!

And that’s what we are all here for
